Argentina’s National Day Celebration 2017 in Malaysia was a thrilling showcase of exquisite Argentine culture.
A heart-warming and memorable night unfolded as Argentina celebrated its National Day as well as commemorated its 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations with Malaysia at Level 41 of the Malaysian Petroleum Club in KLCC.
Definitely a prestigious event with Ambassadors of multiple countries joining in the salute, the Argentine Ambassador H.E. Manuel Balaguer Salas and his wife kicked the night off with a warm welcome to all their guests.
With no shortage of aromatic Argentine wine, the night began with a bang.
Delicious Argentine appetizers circulated around while guests mingled. The Argentine beef was of course the highlight. Pretty soon dinner was served as guests piled their plates high with scrumptious Argentine delicacies amidst convivial conversation.
Then Ambassador Manuel Balaguer Salas gave his speech to mark the distinguished occasion and welcomed César Pelli, the mastermind behind the architectural design of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers to share his inspiration behind his masterpiece.
Pelli imparted with the guests of the evening how Malaysian culture was the catalyst behind the famed, distinctive design of KL’s twin sky scrapers, giving special significance to the space between the double towers, speaking volumes about how much we delve and express ourselves within the spaces of our lives instead of the concrete, solid infrastructure.
Shortly after that enlightening speech, the vibe quickly became electric as professional Tango dancers sashayed and pranced about the room. Guests cheered on in support and applauded for more of that skillful display of elegant art.
It was a night to remember, a momentous occasion for connection between a multitude of countries, enjoyment in entertainment, food for thought about Malaysian culture and happy sipping of robust Argentine wine. A splendid night indeed.
